まずこのCDを発売したイタリアのレーベル、SCHEMA（スキーマ）から説明をしておきたい。―― そこで今回のレビューと一緒に書こうと思ったのだが、随分と長文になってしまったので追記として切り分けることにした。　 ⇒[SCHEMAについて]

今回紹介するロザリア・ディ・ソーザは、SCHEMAの看板プロデューサー、ニコラ・コンテが手掛ける初のブラジル人アーティスト。2人の出会いはニコラがプロデュースしたキンテット・Xの1stアルバム『Novo Esquema da Bossa』で彼女が歌手としてフィーチャーされたことだ。彼女の繊細で透き通った声はニコラが作るモダンで軽快なブラジリアンにとてもよく合う。

リミックス版も既に発売されている今作は、13曲の収録のうち(1),(3),(5),(6),(7),(10),(11)の7曲がブラジルの楽曲をリメイクしたもの。残る6曲はニコラのオリジナルにロザリアが作詞をした。捨て曲と言えるものは一切なく、部屋の雰囲気をガラッと変えてしまうほどの洒落た曲でアルバムを構成する。

何故イタリアのレーベルでブラジリアン？ と思われる人がいるかも知れないが、ブラジリアン・ミュージックは今や本国だけにとどまっているだけの音楽ではない。『Garota Moderna（英訳：Modern Girl）』はそんな未来を描いたアルバムでもあるのだ。
