こういうと語弊があるかもしれないが、このアルバムは第一印象が素晴らしい（ジャケットではなく曲ね…）。ジャズやファンク、ロックなどから選りすぐりのネタを絶妙に料理した彼らの曲は、聴いた瞬間に心を掴まれる。

Time Machineについて少し説明をしておくと、彼らは99年にワシントンDCで結成された、.comel（MC）とJaysonic（MC）、Mekalek（DJ）の3人組からなるヒップホップ・グループ。ちなみに本作『Slow Your Roll』は1stアルバムだ。

本作はアルバム発売よりも先に3作品がアナログ盤としてリリースされていて（2年ぐらい前かな…）、まわりのDJからも結構人気があった。最近Funky DLやNUJABESなどジャズなどを使ったオシャレ系ヒップホップ(?)は、ちょい物好きなリスナーから支持されているのでDJとしても使いやすい。

収録曲の中でも特に喰いつきがよいのがT9『Personal Ads』。Lunch Time Speaks『Ground Zero』と同ネタ（元ネタ何だっけ？）でアナログ盤では2ndシングルとして発売され、渋谷DMRで流れた瞬間に即買いした覚えがある。ちなみに先行発売のアナログで1stシングルは、T4『Reststop Sweetheart』。3rdがT12『Night Lights』。

美人（第一印象がいい）は3日で飽きると言うけれど、総体的にビートのヴァリエーションも豊富で、収録曲一つ一つのキャラ立ちもしっかりしているため、このアルバムとは長くお付き合いできるでしょう。
